Liberty University is a Christian university located in the state of Virginia. Its yearly enrollments include over 90,000 online students and more than 12,000 resident students. It is the largest University in the Commonwealth of Virginia. When its number of online students is added, The University is the 7th largest four-year university, the largest non-profit university, and the largest Christian university in the world. The University offers world class facilities and more than 200,000 graduate and undergraduate resident programs.
The Campus of Liberty University is a big complex building made up of 30 multi-story buildings. The last six buildings were completed in 2007. Each of the rooms in their dormitories has their own private baths, living room, and kitchen. In the clubhouse, there is a private theater, a billiards room, and a swimming pool. There is a tunnel, completed in 2004, which links the east and west areas of the campus. There is also another tunnel, completed in 2012, which serves as a pedestrian passage and gives access to neighboring shopping malls. Additionally, the shuttle system/campus bus was provided in 2006 to ease transport problems to the school campus until midnight.
The Student center is a 90,000 square-foot complex that is equipped with aerobic rooms, multi-purpose rooms, café, cardio and weigh rooms, basketball courts, and a lounge. The adjacent Center has social areas, pool room, game tables, TV lounges, as well as stage for small concerts, bands, and student performances. Other projects in the school include an indoor soccer facility, a lacrosse and ice hockey, intramural sports program, 3D archery range, paintball fields, a morocross facility, and a 97km(60-mile) mountain bike trail system.
A $750,000 volleyball practice program facility was built in 2007 as a training complex whenever the Schilling Center and Vines Center are in use. The construction of the Mountain Snowflex Center was completed in 2009, which includes both beginner and advance slopes.
The tower theater, with a seating capacity of 640 people, was opened in September 2010. The theater has 12,000 square feet of support area, a box office, a fly tower, catwalks, an orchestra pit, and a balcony seating.
Despite all these first class facilities, the school decided to expand their campus in August 2011, which will include more academic buildings, greener space, and more dorms. This has enabled the campus to contain more than 20,000 resident students. The university is founded on evangelism and Christian living.
